Bunch O' Stuff...

Hello girls!
A couple of things to think about & note...

1) NEW RUNNERS...
I have gotten to know a couple of lovley ladies, (Hi Deanna & Tracey!!) who are considering starting running for the first time in a while... if there's anyone else lurking at the blog, wanting to start running but afraid to do it alone, I just want to encourage you to post a comment and make yourselves known. It's so much easier to get started when you have a friend or two at your level. BE BRAVE AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES! Maybe we can introduce you to our "coach Stephanie"--she's got great programs to get you started. Give her an e-mail if you have questions or would like her professional input. Here's her link:

2) SATURDAY START TIMES...
It seems that we've got a wide range of times/distances that we're running on Saturdays... I know for myself and a couple of others, we want to get started earlier in the am so that we get more time to relax afterwards with all the girls. So, how about two start times for now? Anyone who is interested, (probably those running longer or with places to go afterwards), will start at 6:30 this Saturday. I'm sure that's still a little too early for lots of others, so I'm assuming there will still be a group starting at 7:00. As it heats up, we may want to adjust our start times again, but for now I think this will work for some of us who are taking longer to get our KMs run than anyone wants to sit around waiting for us:-)

3) OUR VERY OWN COP FOR KIDS!
Our "Sole Sister in Uniform" is getting ready to do the Cops for Kids bike trip!!

If you're not familiar with this program, check it out--it's a HUGE endeavor! If you would like to donate online you can do that, or Colleen will happily accept your pledges in person! WE'RE PROUD OF YOU COLLEEN!!

4) OKANAGAN 10K/HALF MARATHON/MARATHON - OCTOBER 12TH!!
Just a little heads up that the registration fee for this event goes up July 1st... NOW IS THE TIME TO COMMIT AND PAY!! Would love to know who is planning to run which part of the race! Who's ready to make it official? Let's see how many Sole Sisters we can get registered this week!

5) FRESH AIR EXPERIENCE... MY NEW SHOE GUY
Just wanted to let you know about a fabulous experience shoe shopping Michelle and I had at Fresh Air last Sunday. We had THE BEST shoe guy, his name is Jason and he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, took plenty of time with us and we could not have been happier. And with our new shoes, well... all we have to say is, "Look out fast girls."

GREAT JOB LADIES!!!!!

RACE DAY PHOTOS! In no particular order...

What a beautiful morning! Steph pulled out the big guns and got her PB... everyone did great -- and a special shout out to Michelle who really shone this morning! (and was definately the fastest of the "slow girls"!) This was Deb's first race, and of course we were delighted to have Miss J. join us too... as she smoked her mom across the 5K line!

I'm waiting for Fresh Air to post the official times... but in the mean time here are a few pics of the morning! I think we're missing a couple of people here... terribly sorry if we didn't get you somehow between the 2 cameras.
